Welcome and thank you for your interest in my website.
I have been enjoying photography for about 30 years. I always had a strong urge to create which continues through photography. I have taken many photography classes over the years in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Focal Point Visual Arts School, Langara College and Ampro Photo Studios.
I began exploring and practicing many photo genres including weddings, bands, glamour, food and beverage, product photography, macro and large format photography.
Right from the beginning I started to develop and print my own photos, mostly black and white, but now colour as well. I had my own dark room and now mostly print on ink jet. Large format printing adds a whole new dimension to photographs. I enjoy the printing process as it gives the scenes permanence and gives better control of the final product. I do most editing using photoshop and lightroom. With help from my husband all framing and matting are also done from our home studio.
I have been focusing on photographing artist’s works and reproduce them for sale so their images can be enjoyed by a wider audience. The process has been a huge learning curve but I am beginning to achieve great results. I now specialize in large format printing up to 44 inches wide X unlimited length. The possibilities are endless using the digital darkroom.
Living in rural British Columbia provides continual photo opportunities thanks to the diverse landscape and climate. Having the time and opportunity to travel has spurred my creativity and the desire to keep shooting and learning.
As of November 2020 my work is for sale at the new Nicola Valley Arts Centre. This includes paper prints, canvases and other newer works that are not on the website. My photos are also currently on display at the International Kamloops Airport. I continue to be a member of Kamloops Photo Arts Club and CAPA and have displayed my photos at several cafes and galleries. I am currently selling prints which are available for purchase through the “Gallery Prints” page. All of the prints are made with archival inks and papers for longevity.
My biggest joy is the final print and my goal is to create a sense of feeling in the photos. Photography is a continual learning process which is worth pursuing to share a certain and uncommon view of the world and its inhabitants. Thank you for your time and interest. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
